Caspain was our first ever official rescue horse of Kataluna (along with Banshee as they were rescued in a pair). She came off an Eastern Washington feedlot back in September of 2018. For those of you who have never physically been to a feedlot, it is a difficult sight to take in especially knowing you can only save one or two when there are so many horses there who all deserve a another chance. Coming off a feed lot, you really don't know much about the horses past but from what I am told, Caspain was used as a broodmare most of her life, when her previous owner no longer desired to have babies, he decided she wasn't worth it and basically threw her away. I am not sure why we ended up picking Caspain to come with us but something was drawing me to her. I felt connected, in the same way I did when I first met Luna. She was named Caspain after the powerful Caspian Sea, to match those powerful ocean eyes. She is now happily adopted with her bonded pair Banshee living every day being loved on by her family, as she deserves.
